Recent Work: Forest Oak Herringbone LVT with Border
23rd December 2025
There’s always something satisfying about finishing the year with a floor like this.
For this Barnsley home, the customer chose Forest Oak herringbone LVT, fitted through the kitchen and adjoining spaces with a border to frame the design properly. The result is a floor that feels warm, detailed and made to suit the room, rather than simply laid wall to wall.
The kitchen already had a strong colour scheme, with soft blue cabinetry and clean white woodwork, so the flooring needed to add character without taking over. Forest Oak was a great choice. It brings a mix of natural oak tones, subtle grain detail and enough variation to give the herringbone pattern real depth.
The border is what makes this installation stand out. It helps define the edges of the room, works neatly around doorways and creates a more tailored finish in areas where a standard straight lay might feel plain. In practical spaces like kitchens, that extra design detail can make a big difference to the overall look.
LVT is also a sensible choice for a busy family kitchen because it offers the appearance of wood while being easier to live with day to day. It is hardwearing, simple to maintain and well suited to areas where spills, foot traffic and regular cleaning are part of normal life.
A smart final project of the year, and a great example of how herringbone LVT can completely lift a kitchen without compromising on practicality.
