Conditions of Sale

1. Checking Your Order

Please check your flooring is the correct quality, size and colour as on invoice, as once you have opened your product or attempted installation, you are the owner and the company can not be held responsible for any exchanges.

2. Fitting

i) Rooms must be as clear as possible where carpets are to be fitted.

ii) If rooms are not clear, an additional change may be incurred. As much care as possible will be taken while moving furniture, but no responsibility will be accepted by the company for damage or breakages whatsoever.

iii) If no effort has been made by the customer to remove furniture an additional charge may be incurred, or fitting may be refused altogether with no refund.

iv) All existing carpets must have been lifted prior to fitter arriving or an additional charge of £1.00 per square metre will be charged for uplifting.

v) Any wires the customer requests to be fitted under the carpet e.g telephone, alarm, etc., can be undertaken by the fitter, but we stress that whilst the carpet is being installed, should any such wires be cut, stapled or nailed etc., although whilst care will be taken for this not to happen, should any wire be damaged the company will not be held responsible.

vi) Although care will be taken,  if any damage to paintwork or wallpaper happens during installation or delivery, the company will not be held responsible to repair or reimbursement for materials.

vii) Fitters are self-employed and do not represent the company, and as such the company will not accept any liability for faulty installation. However, if you do encounter any issues, please get in touch and we can ensure your sub-contracted fitter is made aware to rectify any issues.

viii) If there are any issues with your product after installation which you believe is due to faulty product or installation, you must inform us immediately and no longer than 48 hours after your installation date.

ix) Upon completion of your installation, you may be asked to sign a job completion form. Once you have checked your installation, you must sign off the work. Any complaints regarding installation or product after this date – aside from manufacturing faults covered by your warranty – will not be upheld, so please ensure you check carefully ahead of signing.

x) Fitting dates, once booked in, may be difficult for us to change. If you need to change your fitting date, please contact us immediately to inform us and we will do our best to accommodate your changes. If you change your fitting within 7 days of your planned date, you may be charged up to 50% of your total fitting fee before you are able to rearrange. If you change your date within 48 working hours (Monday-Friday), you may be charged up to 100% of your fitting fee before being able to re-book. In both instances, no refund will be available for your materials or fitting fees paid so far, and you will still be required to pay your fitting fee in full ahead of your rearranged installation. Fitting appointments are estimates only and made in good faith, however exact arrival and duration times are not guaranteed due to the unpredictable nature of installation work. The Flooring Outlet do not accept liability for delayed arrival of the sub-contracted fitter.

xi) Door trimming – some doors may need to be trimmed to allow clearance for your new flooring. This is not part of the fitting work unless specified on your invoice or order form. Fitters may remove doors to facilitate fitting, but are not liable to re-hang unless previously agreed. Work on any fire doors, external or non-wood doors will need to be carried out by a specialist; this is not a service The Flooring Outlet will either carry out or arrange. We are also unable to remove, or arrange the removal of, any fire doors or external doors so arrangements must be made prior to the fitting date to avoid any delays.

3. Delivery

If you are not in on the day specified for delivery a further charge will be incurred for re-delivery.

4. Deposits

i) Once a deposit has been left, the condition of balance to be paid will be agreed and written on invoice as at ‘Method of payment’. If the conditions agreed are not fulfilled the deposit will be lost and the product will be resold

ii) Once a deposit has been left, this is not refundable unless the company is unable to supply goods specified on receipt.

5. Measurements

We request that you provide accurate measurements to your room(s) to be filled. If the customers dimension are incorrect, and the carpet does not fit room(s) specified the company will not be responsible to exchange your order.

We only offer a free measuring service within our local area and may refuse to provide this service or request a deposit at any time. We will only carry out his service where the product is to be supplied by The Flooring Outlet. On free measure and estimates, rooms must be in a suitable state to be measured, with clear access and enough space to take the required measurements.

Any measurements taken will not be provided to you until the point of ordering. If you do request to receive the measurements without placing an order, we may charge a fee to give these to you. This is worked out on a case-by-case basis.

If you are unable to be reached on the day of your free measure & estimate, or are not home when we arrive, we may refuse to offer the service for free again and you may be required to pay an initial deposit. Deposits are non-refundable, however any deposit made will be taken from your material cost if/when you place an order with us.

If you have asked The Flooring Outlet to visit your home and check the suitability of a particular product, the measure & estimate is limited to checking what is physically visible without lifting existing floor coverings. If you would like the entire subfloor checked, it is your responsibility to lift the existing floorcoverings prior to the visit. Following inspection, we will advise of any works that may be necessary prior to the installation of your product. You can then decide whether you wish for a fitter recommended by us to carry out any subfloor preparation under a separate agreement between you and the fitter, or whether you wish to arrange to carry out any appropriate works yourself.

If you elect to carry out any subfloor preparation works yourself, it is your responsibility to ensure that the works are completed to an appropriate standard in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions for the product(s) used. You will need to provide the store arranging the fitting with evidence that this has been completed prior to the installation date agreed.

6. Colour Matching

Please note, we are unable to guarantee an exact colour match where different widths of carpet are supplied and/or used.

7. Shading and Pile Pressure

All carpets, especially plain grounds, are liable after they have been in use for some time to shading, i.e, to show light and dark patches. This is due to uneven pressing of the surface by treading, light and delicately shaded carpets are liable to become soiled with wear and it may appear the colours have faded. Both tendencies are inherent in all pile fabrics and we cannot therefore accept any responsibility for complaints arising from either of these causes.

8. Sizes

All dimensions are in accordance with British Standards 3655 (1974) + 1.25% in width and/ or length.

9. Title

Title of all goods remains the property of the company until full settlement is received by the company.

10. Order Changes

We will accommodate order changes to the best of our ability. If you wish to change your order, please inform us no later than three working days before your order is due to be delivered. Items such as carpet, vinyl and artificial grass are cut to size and therefore unable to be changed once cut. If you do wish to change, we may charge you a restocking fee or proceed with delivery of the order as placed and outlined in your invoice.

11. Returns

  • Any returns must be made within 14 days of receiving your order
  • Any returns must be made by the customer to our shop location. We are unable to collect any returns from your property or project
  • We do not accept returns for any non-stocked products (i.e. “special orders”) that have been ordered in specially for your project
  • We do not accept any returns on Carpets, Vinyl or Artificial Grass as they are cut to size
  • At manager’s discretion, cut-to-size orders of stocked items may be returned, and a 50% restocking fee will be applicable
  • We will accept returns on any stocked items such as laminate or LVT, if they are in full unopened boxes
  • For orders placed in-store for non cut-to-size products (i.e. laminate or LVT), returns can be either exchanged for another product or a credit note for the value of the returned products. Refunds will only be given at the manager’s discretion, and a 25% restocking fee may apply
  • The above does not effect your statutory rights

12. Refer a Friend Promotion

Our refer a friend promotion gives customers of The Flooring Outlet the opportunity to earn up to £30 in Amazon vouchers for every friend they refer to us, dependent on how much their friend or family member spends, depends on the tier of their reward. The reward tiers are as follows:

  • £100 Spend: £10 Amazon Voucher
  • £250 Spend: £20 Amazon Voucher
  • £500+ Spend: £30 Amazon Voucher

If the customer’s order comes to less than £100, no Amazon reward will be given, but we will add some level of discount to your account the next time you place an order with us within 12 months of the referred friend’s order.

Amazon vouchers will be sent at the beginning of every month for the month prior. Rewards are qualified and approved once the fitting date or delivery date, plus returns period, has passed.

The customer’s referred friend will receive up to 10% off their first order with The Flooring Outlet. This offer is discretionary and based on the product chosen at time of ordering. This is based on whether the product is in-stock or must be ordered in specially for the customer. Discount will always be at least 5% of total order value.

Discount does not include fitting charges.

Strictly new customers are eligible for discount or will qualify to earn the customer an Amazon reward.

Amazon vouchers may be swapped for store credit if you wish. You must contact us directly to arrange this. Once Amazon vouchers have been sent, they cannot be swapped for store credit.

All decisions made by Management regarding rewards and discounts are final.

Promotion end date is to be confirmed; when the promotion is given an end date, we will contact all customers who have allowed us to contact them for marketing preferences to inform them.
