How to choose
the right laminate
Consider the room
For kitchens and hallways, choose a water-resistant laminate such as Cuattro Aqua. For bedrooms, a great-value 7mm or 8mm floor is often all you need.
Think about thickness
Thicker boards feel more solid underfoot and are quieter to walk on. A 10mm or 12mm floor is a good choice for living rooms and hallways.
Think about durability
Check the AC rating. AC3 suits normal use around the home, while AC4 and AC5 floors are built for busier rooms and heavy foot traffic.

Which laminate floors are in the Black Friday sale?
All of them. There is an extra 10% off every laminate floor we sell, including Cuattro Aqua in 8mm and 12mm, Villa 12mm, Amazone 10mm, AGT 8mm and Standard Plus 7mm, each in a choice of finishes.
How much does laminate flooring cost in the Black Friday sale?
You get an extra 10% off our outlet prices, which are already up to 39% below the RRP. Laminate prices start from £10.39/m² before the extra 10% comes off. Laminate is sold by the pack, so your total depends on how many packs your room needs.
Is laminate flooring waterproof?
Standard laminate is not waterproof, so spills should be wiped up quickly. Cuattro Aqua is designed for extra protection: its Aqua Lock system holds standing liquid for up to 24 hours, which makes it a good choice for kitchens and hallways. What do laminate AC ratings mean?
The AC rating shows how hard-wearing a laminate floor is. AC3 suits normal use around the home, AC4 handles busier rooms, and AC5 is the toughest rating in our range, built for heavy foot traffic. The floors on this page range from AC3 to AC5.
Is thicker laminate better?
Thicker boards feel more solid underfoot, are quieter to walk on and are more forgiving over slightly uneven floors. A 7mm or 8mm floor is a good-value choice for bedrooms, while 10mm and 12mm floors suit living rooms and hallways.
Do I need underlay with laminate flooring?
Yes. Laminate is a floating floor, so it is laid over underlay rather than stuck down. Underlay cushions the boards and reduces noise, and on a concrete floor it should include a damp-proof layer. Our team can recommend the right one for your subfloor.
How many packs of laminate do I need?
Work out the area of the room in square metres and add about 10% for cuts. Divide that by the pack size shown on the product, which ranges from about 1.3m² to 2.4m² depending on the floor, and round up to full packs.
Can I fit Black Friday laminate flooring myself?
Many people do. Laminate boards click together without glue, which makes it one of the more DIY-friendly floors. Leave the packs in the room for 48 hours before fitting and keep an expansion gap around the edges. If you would rather not, we can introduce you to independent local fitters.
How long do the Black Friday laminate deals last?
The extra 10% off laminate runs until Monday 30 November. Popular lines may sell out before then, so don’t leave it too late.
